It’s finally the holiday season. Moving quickly from Halloween to Thanksgiving, we’re in the middle of the season and impatiently waiting for all of it. Thanksgiving is a special holiday that celebrates family, gratitude, and FOOD!
A common misconception about Thanksgiving is that one must stay home and labor over a hot stove for hours – this year, we’re inviting you to enjoy a home-cooked meal in the comfort of your very own room in the mountains.
Dutch’s at Silver Tree, an incredible restaurant in the area, celebrates Thanksgiving each year with a buffet – and this year you can enjoy it from your room as they are offering a takeaway option! From the holiday’s staples like roasted turkey and sweet potatoes to non-traditional but entirely welcome additions like crab dip and sauerkraut! (Thanksgiving ToGo orders must be placed by 11/21/21!) Of course, you can always dine at Dutch’s with all the same options as take-out, with a few extras like fried oysters, garden salad, and prime rib.
Taking this Thanksgiving off, not worrying about cooking or cleaning, is exactly what you need after the stress of the past few years. And Dutch’s isn’t the only reason to visit! Enjoy seasonal treats at the local coffee shop, Trader’s – mouthwatering pumpkin rolls, Christmas cookies, and delicious coffee and other treats. If you want convenience, visit Casselman’s Bakery and Cafe right across the street from our hotel! They offer local accouterments like jams and jellies, as well as yummy lunch items to grab and go. You can even pick up whole pies and other desserts, and it’s less than a 3-minute walk from the Inn at Deep Creek!
Aside from all the yummy food, there is so much to do in the area. Enjoy a cup of cocoa beside your in-room fireplace, go for a snowy hike through any of the miles and miles of trails in the area, hit up Wisp for some mountain-coaster action, or enjoy the Holiday Bazaar! The Saturday after Thanksgiving, join us for some holiday fun – from raffles to vendors selling the most charming Christmas gifts, you won’t want to miss out on this kick-off to Christmas at the Holiday Bazaar.
